Country Manager - UK
Full-time |  Remote Based

AppliedAI is a pioneering AI technology company headquartered in Abu Dhabi, committed to innovation and excellence in artificial intelligence solutions in regulated industries such as healthcare, insurance, government, and financial services.

Position Overview:

As Country Manager, you will serve as AppliedAI's full commercial and operational owner in the UK market. This role demands exceptional commercial leadership, deep local market expertise, a thorough understanding of enterprise sales and deployment in regulated industries, and the ability to align in-country strategy with global business objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in enterprise B2B technology sales and market development, with experience operating at Director or VP level in high-growth, high-stakes environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Market Entry & Revenue Growth
  • Own the full country P&L  pipeline, bookings, revenue, and net revenue retention
  • Define and execute a go-to-market strategy calibrated to your market's regulatory environment, buying dynamics, and target verticals (banking, healthcare, insurance, energy, government)
  • Source, qualify, and close enterprise deals with large organisations; actively manage a pipeline of $500K–$5M+ opportunities
  • Lead commercial negotiations end-to-end and drive deals through complex, multi-stakeholder procurement processes

Customer Success & Expansion
  • Partner with AppliedAI's deployment team to move customers from pilot to full Opus production driving the transition from experimentation to measurable, auditable outcomes
  • Own customer health metrics across your portfolio and proactively drive net revenue retention and expansion
  • Identify and convert upsell opportunities as customers extend Opus into adjacent workflows and business units
  • Build and sustain C-suite relationships across all key accounts; be the executive contact when things need to move

Team Building & Operations
  • Recruit, lead, and develop your in-country team across sales, pre-sales, solutions engineering, and customer success
  • Establish local operating rhythms, hiring plans, and performance benchmarks aligned to AppliedAI's global standards
  • Navigate local employment law, entity requirements, data residency obligations, and sector-specific compliance frameworks with support from HQ
  • Represent AppliedAI at industry events, with regulators, and in government forums relevant to AI adoption in regulated industries

Strategic Intelligence & Global Collaboration
  • Feed market-specific intelligence competitor moves, regulatory shifts, vertical pain points directly into product roadmap and leadership decision-making
  • Shape Opus localisation priorities: compliance configurations, data sovereignty requirements, and workflow adaptation per market
  • Collaborate with Country Manager peers across EMEA, APAC, and the Americas to share playbooks, pipeline intelligence, and cross-border opportunities
  • Contribute to AppliedAI's global GTM strategy as a senior voice from the field

Qualifications:

Experience:
  • Significant enterprise B2B experience, with at least prior experience in a senior commercial or country leadership role
  • Proven track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise software or technology deals particularly in regulated verticals (banking, healthcare, insurance, energy, or government)
  • Experience building and scaling teams from the ground up in a high-growth, resource-constrained environment
  • Prior experience in a 0-to-1 market entry or first-country-hire role at a scaling B2B software company is strongly preferred
  • Background in enterprise AI, workflow automation, intelligent document processing, BPO transformation, or RPA is highly valued

Skills:
  • Deep in-market knowledge enterprise networks, regulatory context, cultural buying dynamics, and competitive landscape for your territory
  • Commercially sharp: able to build a business case, manage a P&L, and translate data into clear, confident decisions
  • Strong executive presence; equally comfortable navigating procurement, legal, compliance, and the C-suite in the same deal cycle
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritise across a complex, multi-stakeholder environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills written, verbal, and executive-level presentation
  • Ability to handle commercially sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, high-ambiguity environment and navigates uncertainty with urgency and composure
  • Comfortable operating autonomously while remaining tightly aligned to global business objectives
  • Willingness to travel extensively estimated 30–50% across market, customer sites, and global hubs

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is a plus.

Benefits:
  • Opportunity to work with a high-growth AI technology company.
  • Collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Growing, entrepreneurial and forward-thinking culture.
  • Career growth and professional development opportunities.
