Opus AI Technologies is a pioneering AI company in Austin, Texas, and we are growing fast.
We build Opus, the agentic AI platform for regulated industries. Insurers, health systems, and financial institutions use it to see what their processes actually cost them, rebuild those processes with AI agents, and then run them at full speed with people still in the loop. Work that used to sit in an IT queue for weeks now takes minutes, and the business team does it themselves.
That only works because governance, auditability, and compliance are built into the platform rather than bolted on afterward to satisfy an auditor. It is why a compliance officer will sign off on what we deliver, and why enterprises trust Opus with the work they cannot afford to get wrong: the claim that decides whether a family gets covered, the loan file, the patient record, the benefits application with a person waiting on the other end.
The role
You are the person who makes an Opus deployment real.
As an AI Workflow Engineer you embed with enterprise clients and build the agentic workflows that run their processes in production. You'll take a mapped business process and turn it into working orchestration that holds up under audit.
This is a build role, not an advisory one. You'll write code, wire up systems, debug production behavior, and sit next to client engineers while you do it. You'll work alongside a Solutions Consultant who owns the technical design and a Project Manager who owns the engagement, so your attention stays on shipping.
What you'll own
Build and deploy

Implement and configure agentic workflows in Opus for enterprise clients and partners, from first prototype through production rollout.

Design and build proofs of concept and pilots that prove business value quickly, then harden them into something operations teams can depend on.

Develop and maintain evaluation suites for the workflows you ship: define what "correct" means for a process, measure it, and improve it before a client finds the gap.

Implement guardrails, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, and audit trails appropriate to the client's regulatory posture.
Integrations

Work hands-on with APIs, data connectors, and middleware to integrate Opus with ERP, CRM, document management, and core enterprise systems.

Diagnose and resolve integration and orchestration issues under production pressure, often with limited visibility and less patience available than you would like.

Handle real-world data: inconsistent documents, partial records, edge cases nobody mentioned during discovery.
Client and partner engineering

Work directly with client and partner technical teams, including our strategic consulting partner's engineers on joint engagements. Understand their environment, earn their trust, and build alongside them.

Run technical enablement and training so client teams can operate and extend what you built without us.
Make the next deployment faster

Identify patterns that recur across engagements and turn them into reusable components, templates, and playbooks.

Write the technical documentation, integration guides, and handover materials that let support and the client's own team take over cleanly.

Feed field signal (failure modes, capability gaps, feature requests) back to Product and Engineering. What you learn in week three of a deployment should change the platform by the next quarter.
What we're looking for
Experience
-
Proven engineering background in AI/ML, workflow automation, or systems integration, with a track record of shipping software that other people depend on.

Hands-on production experience with LLMs: prompt engineering, agent and tool-use patterns, retrieval, and evaluation. You've seen what breaks when a model meets real enterprise data.

Strong experience with system integrations and APIs (REST, SOAP, webhooks, event-driven patterns).

Coding and scripting ability, Python preferred.
Technical depth we value

Deep integration experience with a major ERP or CRM platform (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, or similar).

Familiarity with workflow orchestration engines and agent frameworks.

Understanding of security and compliance practice in integrations: data residency, access control, PII handling, audit requirements.

Experience delivering technical workshops or enablement sessions.

Logistics
Location: Austin, Texas preferred. Remote considered for exceptional US-based candidates.
